THE PIANO ACADEMY at

Texas A&M University-Commerce

Welcome to the Piano Academy at Texas A&M University-Commerce. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with you or your child in developing your musical skills through piano study.

Please download the academy's policy below.  When you are ready to start lessons, contact me for placement with a teacher.  You will need to complete the registration form and return it with payment before your first lesson.

Fall Piano Festival

The Fall Piano Festival is organized by Hunt County Music Teachers Association and hosted at Texas A&M University-Commerce. 

This is a non-competitive event open to piano students of all ages.

Participants receive a certificate of participation and comment sheet from the judge with a rating of 1+ through 4.

Grand Piano

Sonata/Sonatina Competition

The Sonata/Sonatina Competition is organized by the piano division of Texas A&M University-Commerce and hosted on campus.

The event has competitive and non-competitive components and is open to students, kindergarten through 12th grade.  It is divided into 18 levels with contestants performing the same piece. Please refer to the REPERTOIRE LIST for the required piece for each level.

No more than two students from each level will be chosen to perform in the Finalists Recital. At the recital, the judges will choose an overall winner for each level and present the awards with a trophy.  All participating students will receive a Certificate of participation and a critique sheet with general rating.
